About the music:

IS/WAS Curation Vol 1 was something assembled piece by piece, asking my friends if they wanted to be involved, and waiting for each response before asking the next person. In that way it was a very organic, almost living compilation.

Many of the songs are previously unreleased, and much of these bands are staples in Portland’s music scene. There are also bands on here from NYC, Denver, and Brazil.

Bands with unreleased tracks include (in alpha order): Candace, Civil Engineer, Dead Leaf Echo, Heaven, Miracle Falls, Souvenir Driver. In addition, this will be the first physical release of the Cat Hoch song (from her upcoming album). Hollow Sidewalks contributed a song from their brand new E.P. and Daydream Machine has an alternate dreamy mix of a favorite cuts of theirs. Firefriend & Leading Psychics both contributed my favorite released tracks of theirs.

This is not genre specific, but fans of psychedelia, dream pop, shoegaze, and indie will find plenty to enjoy in the selection.

Note: This is intended to be a physical release, which is why digital is priced the same as physical. However, note that all digital proceeds will go to a local non profit.
